T509 Speed Triple

T509 Speed Triple

New Era Roadster

The T509 Speed Triple is a stripped down, lean and mean machine backed up by technology that takes the old Speed Triple's café racer concept straight to the next century.

The bold and brutal styling centres on the basic engineering package that makes the T595 a cutting edge sports machine. The new Speed Triple is as exhilarating to ride as it is to look at.

The tubular aluminium frame, single-sided swingarm, brakes, wheels, tyres and suspension are from the same stable as the T595's, resulting in outstanding handling integrity. And due to the lack of fairing, the T509 is the lightest bike in Triumph's range, weighing in at a mere 196kg!

The engine is tuned to produce 108PS at 9100rpm with a broad spread of torque across the lower end of the rev range, better suited to the bike's unfaired design. The fuel injection system has been specially reprogrammed to suit the different demands of the T509's engine, but otherwise boasts the same highly advanced features as the T595's.

While the styling is radical and clearly stunning, practicality doesn't suffer for it. The twin headlamps offer a sharply focused blaze of light for maximum visibility at night, and the optional wind deflector takes the worst out of the wind pressure at higher cruising speeds. There's sufficient steering lock to make town work relaxed and the well-sized dual seat means two people are comfortably catered for.

Accessories

Integrated alarm system, carbon fibre rear hugger, carbon fibre front mudguard, 'carbon fibre' look front tank panel, tank bag, paddock stand handle bar conversion kit, seat cowl.

"This is a cafe racer with attitude, a bad-ass bomber of a bike that looks mean and sexy just standing still..."
"...dropping the pressures on the Bridgestones substantially compared to Triumph's recommendations just as we'd done on the T595, the result has to be the best-handling naked bike built anywhere in the world."
"The fact that the new Speed Triple comes without a steering damper says it all - you can ride this bike like a Supermono in turns..."

A Triumph of Technology

The Triumph Motorcycle Company has had a clear plan and purpose since the introduction of its first bikes at the Cologne Show of 1990. The first task was to establish a reputation for producing high-quality, reliable and well-engineered machines with a character and style which was recognisably British.

The technology was modern and proven, and the production facilities state of the art. With more than 40 percent of each bike being built at the factory, it has been possible to exert exceptional control over the quality of the completed machines. Where outside suppliers have been unable to meet Triumph's exacting demands, further processes have been introduced within the factory to maintain or further improve standards.

The formula was so successful that six years on production is up 7 fold with exports to over 30 countries. More than 45,000 people worldwide now own a Hinckley Triumph, making it the most successful motorcycle company of the nineties.

Customer loyalty is so strong that the company has introduced the Rider's Association of Triumph (RAT), a club which brings together owners of the Hinckley-built machines to pool information and their experiences with their motorcycles.

The time has now come to bring into action the next phase of Triumph's plan. With its name fully re-established, Triumph is taking on the best in the world, head on, with the introduction of a brand new supersports bike that gives nothing away in out and out performance yet retains the character and style that sets Triumph apart and gives it a unique advantage.

This has involved industry-leading technology, from the aluminium frame's CAD-CAM construction to the development of the most advanced engine management system used anywhere in motorcycling.

The all-new Daytona T595 is a product of the very best of British engineering combined with the unsurpassed build quality that has become synonymous with the name Triumph.

Spreading the appeal of the Triumph range even further is the new T509 Speed Triple based on the T595 but with an aggressive, original style that singles it out as one of the most innovative and daring machines of the decade.

While Triumph continues to satisfy its original customer base with machines such as the Trident, Trophy and Sprint, at the same time it is attracting an even wider audience as it expands into new areas. The highly successful Thunderbird and Adventurer marked the first clear moves to reach beyond the traditional Hinckley Triumph customers into the cruiser arena, and now the T595 is spearheading the attack on the supersports market.

With its class-leading performance, mouth-watering looks and Triumph build quality, its success is inevitable.
